Spotlight: Jun Takahashi ✧

Japanese designer, Jun Takahashi, is the brilliant mastermind behind Undercover. Ever since I first saw Undercover's FW14 collection, Takahashi has been one of my favorite designers. I loved the whole creepy avant-garde aesthetic he had for this collection:

The models wore medieval vampire-type outfits, ethereal crowns and even donned bright red contact lenses to add to the eeriness:

Takahashi also has a trademark punk-street style going on, which I love. In his SS14 collection, he captured the essence of punk while still showing elegance and sophistication with a monochromatic color scheme.

In the finale, lights were turned off to showcase his captivating LED shirts. From what I've read, the words on the shirts were inspired by lyrics from a band called Savages and their post-punk album, Silence Yourself.

Spring outfit ideas

When I think of spring, I usually think of pastel colors and light clothing considering how hot it gets here in Southern California. I think the high for this week is 97 degrees, ugh. Well anyways, here are a couple of looks i put together for spring:

Record Store Day!

Hey guys! Sorry for the mini hiatus, school has been killing me lately which left me with no time for blogging. :( But since its finally spring break, you can expect a lot more posts coming your way! Anyways, yesterday was record store day and my friends and I decided to visit a record store down in Long Beach called Fingerprints.

The store is absolutely adorable and it is packed with tons of amazing records and cds for pretty low prices. I believe there was also a 15% off discount that day. I also found a couple of my favorite albums: 

We also ran into Barry Johnson from Joyce Manor although we didn't get a picture with him :( but he did give my friend a discount for being a fan.

After that we went to an antique store in Hawaiian Gardens called Gum's Mall of Antiques & Collectibles. The place was absolutely beautiful. It had an amazing pond inside with fish and turtles. There was even a parakeet!

I really wish I could've taken more pictures but for the most part it was a pretty awesome day and a great way to start spring break. Happy Easter everyone! xoxo

Music for March ♬

It's been a while since I've made a monthly music list so here are some of my newly discovered music that I absolutely recommend:

Youth Lagoon - The Year of Hibernation (2011)
I discovered them on Pandora and loved the song 17. Their music is incredibly calming and soothing. I listened to the rest of their album and was not disappointed. My favorite song was Afternoon. "And when I speak I don't make sense, but believe me when I see." I really recommend this band for fans of: Bombay Bicycle Club, Local Natives, and Daughter.

Portugal. The Man - Evil Friends - (2013)
This is another band I discovered on Pandora. I actually discovered them last year but I've never really heard the full album until just recently. My favorite song off of the album is Sea of Air and the acoustic version is so amazing. "When you talk to God about suicide, when you never hear back I hope your still alive and that part of you that never cared, well you can leave it here in the sea of air." I recommend this for fans of: Young the Giant, the Nationals, and Foster the People.

Young the Giant - Mind Over Matter (2014)
I've actually been a fan of Young the Giant since 7th grade so this isn't really much of a discovery, but oh well. When they announced they were releasing a new album I was so excited! This album definitely did not disappoint. My favorite song off the album is Paralysis. "Lately I've been thinking I'm not feeling nothing at all." I recommend this band for fans of: Two Door Cinema Club, Vampire Weekend, and Grouplove.
